Matchday and Deadline Day

Weird dynamic today with a full compliment of EFL fixtures happening tonight.

For clubs in the Championship and some in League One, I have less sympathy. Often the managers of these sides can crack on and focus on the match ahead, leaving the transfer tasks to their sporting directors, CEO's etc.

Clubs further down the pyramid will struggle more. Managers tend to be more hands on when it comes to recruiting players in the lower tiers. With League Two clubs being the last beneficiaries of the trickle down from the Premier League, it's very plausible they could miss out on some bargain deadline day deals due to it being matchday.

Colchester United boss Danny Cowley was very scathing of it, and for me, rightly so.

Leicester are taking action

As highlighted in an article last week, Leicester have started the season by showing their weakest side.

Russell Martin and Co. are obviously attempting to improve the squad to negate their issues.

The potential signings of Warren O'Hora, Emil Riis, and John Lundstram appear to be problem-addressing additions for the Foxes.
