Crawley Town sack Colin Kazim-Richards as other League Two managers begin to look over their shoulders

Crawley Town have parted ways with Colin Kazim-Richards following defeat to Crawley Town. The ex-Derby County striker becomes the first managerial casualty in League Two, but there's plenty others who may be looking over their shoulder.

The 40-year-old lasted seven months. Crawley Town confirmed his departure in the early hours of Wednesday morning following a 3-2 home defeat to Shrewsbury Town. Kazim-Richards’ assistant Julian Gray has departed alongside him, as has director of football Erdem Konyar, who was instrumental in appointing Kazim-Richards in the first place.

It’s hard to argue with this decision. Kazim-Richards took charge in March and his remit was to keep Crawley up, which he managed by a single point. This season, though, their start has been dreadful, and it looks like whoever comes in to replace the ex-Derby County striker will have another relegation battle on their hands.
