In recent years, whilst Wrexham embarked on a tour of the lower leagues, Cardiff and Swansea have battled it out to be Wales’s most successful football team. For the first time in 45 years following Cardiff’s promotion back to the second tier, there’ll be six fixtures this season, not just the two, to decide who reigns supreme in Wales.

Ask a Cardiff supporter who the biggest club in Welsh football is and you’ll only get one answer. Ask a Swansea supporter and you’ll get the same answer, only with a different club attached to it. Ask anyone in Wrexham, and they’ll point you towards the Hollywood influence, soaring revenues, and a league table that had them above both the others come May.
